PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

It is a matter of pleasure that this young Institution established in 2005 has achieved so much in this short span of time. The college has developed departments of IT, Arts, Science and Fashion Designing department. We expect that the college will reach new heights and will impart quality education to the girls. Women in India are under privileged, No matter how many facts and figures we may quote, the fact remains the same that the fruit of education has not reached to them in the measures in which it should have been and though we all know that education serves as the panacea to many evils of the society yet only about 50% of our female population is literate. This segment of society constitute one half of the population of the country, therefore no real development can take place without their involvement and participation.
There is little doubt that given the right direction and education, the girls can do wonders in every field by improving their skills. This implies all around uplifting of the rural girls in particular. If the girls are educated, the role of girls, in the tasks of construction of a new enlightened society, becomes even more relevant.
This college has been set up with a view to provide education to the girls of this particular area so that they can have an easy access to the education equipped with modern techniques and technologies.
Challenges posed by globalization and knowledge explosion need to be understood and addressed by the educational Institutions. In this context, continuous awareness of latest techniques, information, academic development & modern infrastructural development is required.
I sincerely hope that the day is not far when Pt. Mohan Lal S.D. College for Girls, Fatehgarh Churian will rank as one among the top ten best colleges of Northern India. For this and more, I wish great success to the dedicated faculty and students of the college and hope that they will realize this goal very soon.
